I have seen lots of opinions based on the different version of scripture. Very few address the fact that the NKJV indicates a distinction between the "they" and the "seed of men." Couple that with the increase of alien abductions in the last few decades, an estimated 3% by the Roper polling outfit, and personal testimony of Christian abduction victims that say these "aliens" stop immediately when the name of the Lord Jesus Christ is called upon and it seems to me to be fallen angels, masquerading as ETs. Satan tried it once already in genesis with the daughters of men.(Nephilim) With the current condition of things and the coming of Anti-christ, I would not be surprised if he tried something like that again.
