Read Introduction to 1 Thessalonians

“…that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you…”

to mind your own business,

Secondly, Christians should mind their own business. Busybody mentality is not Christian. Many people are much better at telling others how to run their business than running their own. Faithful attention to life’s normal pursuits is a Christian value, especially attention to our own business. Personal industry will save the busybody from himself.

Industry in life tends to save us from ourselves.

It is easier to mind other people’s business than our own. Some people are experts at raising their neighbor’s children. We have a saying, “Mind your own business,” that may apply to busybodies.

2 Th 3:11, “For we hear that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busybodies.”

Busybodies are a plague on any church. Some people love to stick their nose in other people’s business.

Ro 14:4, “Who are you to judge another’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand.”
