“Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, And to present you faultless Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,”
And to present you faultless
God alone is competent to “present” us “faultless” before Himself one day. The word “faultless” means without blemish, blameless. This word alludes to the Old Testament sacrifice presented to God without blemish. The believer will stand before God in eternity without accusation, free from all allegations by God.
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Th 5:23
Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 1 Jn 3:2
…knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and will present us with you. 2 Co 4:14
Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,
Not only will God present us to Himself without fault, but it will be a presentation of great or exceeding joy. The idea is exaltation. We will leap for joy in the presence of God’s glorious presence.
PRINCIPLE:
Salvation is permanent and cannot be forfeited.
APPLICATION:
God can save believers from theological problems. Jesus constantly intercedes on our behalf for all our problems. Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people.
…who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 1 Pe 1:5
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. I and My Father are one. Jn 10:27-30
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Ro 8:38-39
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 1 Pe 1:3-5
The Christian does not have to hold onto his salvation because God holds it for him. This is the perseverance of the Savior rather than the perseverance of the saints.
