Read Introduction to Matthew

34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’

Verses 34 to 40 set forth the inheritance of believers in the Tribulation.

25:34

Then the King will say to those on His right hand [the place of acceptance—believers]), ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

Jesus will usher believers into the Millennial kingdom.

25:35

for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;

True believers show the fruit that comes from the root of becoming believers.

25:36

I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’

True believers manifest characteristics of care for Jesus’ needs in six areas:

Meet hunger

Meet thirst

Show hospitality

Clothe needy

Heal the sick

Provide for those persecuted

Believers who care for other believers in the Tribulation will receive an inheritance for their love.

PRINCIPLE:

Works manifest the reality of the state of our hearts.

APPLICATION:

Believers manifest the reality of their belief by what they do. Believers do not earn their way into the kingdom but receive the kingdom as a result of knowing the King, King Jesus.
