30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,  

 

disobedient [unwilling to be persuaded] to parents,

This sin rejects the authority of those who have done the most for them. There is a lack of gratitude in this sin.

PRINCIPLE:

Children need to learn from their parents that other people have rights.

APPLICATION:

Rejection of authority by children is rampant in our day. The Ten Commandments say, “Honor your father and mother” (Ex 20:12). The reason children need to learn to obey their parents is to learn that other people have rights; they need to respect those rights. Obedience is yielding one’s will to authority.

Eph 6:2, Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise . . .  

2 Ti 3:2, For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
