28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

The words “all things” are comprehensive and unqualified (8:39); it is far more than some things. The context indicates that the phrase “all things” refers to adversities Christians face in life. Everything that has happened or could happen is controlled by God in His providence.

APPLICATION:
God is sovereign over all the affairs of life. He orders all the situations in time and space. It does not matter whether the situation seems good or bad, is easy or hard, finds us in sound health or sickness, or deals with life or death—there are no accidents with God.
