Read Introduction to Romans

38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,

nor angels [greatest created beings], nor principalities [ruling fallen angels] nor powers,

This trio pertains to diverse spiritual dimensions. Angels hypothetically would not separate the Christian from God’s love, and “principalities” (demons) definitely could not. Nor could “powers” (human governments, or possibly Satan’s world system) do this either. It does not matter which end of the pole of spiritual powers, good or bad—they cannot separate us from the Lord of God.

nor things present nor things to come [the future],

No polarization in time will separate the Christian from God’s love. Nothing that we presently experience or could possibly experience in the future will separate us from Him. Christians will not face judgment in the eternal state.

PRINCIPLE:

No spiritual power can separate the believer at any time from eternal life with God.

APPLICATION:

There are two domains of angels—good and evil. No being of any kind, material or spiritual, can separate the believer from God’s love in providing eternal life. Jesus defeated spiritual enemies on the cross:

Co 2:15, Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it [the cross].
