10 not pilfering, but showing all good fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.
This verse continues the segment on dealing with slaves.
10 not pilfering,
Christian slaves were not to steal or embezzle from their masters. This would damage the cause of Christ.
PRINCIPLE:
There is no justification for employees to steal from their employers.
APPLICATION:
Masters did not pay slaves in the first century. We can image how dishonest non-Christian slaves became. They might have had the temptation to steal food or household items.
Some might say in our day, “Everybody does it.” However, a Christian does not do it. Sticky fingers do not belong to the child of God.
