18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,
and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,
God continued His work of reconciliation through Paul’s team. Their ministry was characterized by reconciliation. It is God’s special assignment that believers share reconciliation through Christ.
One purpose of reconciling people was to reconcile others—that is, by evangelism.
PRINCIPLE:
Reconciliation is a change in relationships.
APPLICATION:
Ambassadors of states are given charters. Charters are rights granted and guaranteed by the sovereign authority of the country. It may be the authority to trade. God has chartered each Christian to conduct certain affairs of God. We do King Jesus’ business in time on earth by the “ministry of reconciliation.” Our business is to bring God and men together. The death of Christ has reconciled God, but now men need reconciliation. Jesus removed the obstruction between God and man—sin (2 Co 5:14).
