Read Introduction to 2 Corinthians

19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

and has committed [entrusted] to us the word [message] of reconciliation.

God committed to Paul’s team the message of reconciliation. The word “committed” means deposited. God deposited in Paul’s team the mandate to spread the “word of reconciliation”—that is, the doctrine of reconciliation. God accepted the death of Christ as forgiveness of sin. It is the good news that God has already forgiven those who have believed in the death of Christ for forgiveness.

PRINCIPLE:

The moment a person receives Christ, he becomes a personal representative of Christ on earth.

APPLICATION:

The ministry of reconciliation is the proclamation of what God has done in Christ. Some of us misrepresent the Lord Jesus. Instead of truly signifying who He is and what He did, we present a caricature of who He is. Sadly, we may be the only true Christian some people know, or the best Christian some know.

God expects us to walk worthy of who we are (Co 1:10; 1 Th 2:12). God anticipates that we will represent the Lord Jesus accurately. Each of us has influence with some that no one else on earth has. Representing the Lord is not a matter of giftedness or talent, but simply living the Christian life as we should.
