Did Nostradamus’ Predict the World Trade Center Tragedy?
False Prophecy
Some people on the Internet claim that the French physician and astrologer, Nostradamus, prophesied the destruction of the World Trade Center. They maintain that he wrote the following,
“In the city of york there will be a great collapse,
2 twin brothers torn apart by chaos
while the fortress falls the great leader will succumb
third big war will begin when the big city is burning”
Nostradamus 1654.
This is patently false — Nostradamus died in 1566. It is a hoax. Some assert that the writings of Nostradamus also contain the idea that “two metal birds” will crash into “two tall statues.” Supposedly this is a reference to the two airplanes crashing into the two towers of the World Trade Center. The email hoax usually looks something like this:
“…two metal birds would crash into two tall statues…in the new city… and the world will end soon after” From the book of Nostradamus
This is also a hoax . Nostradamus never made reference to “two steel birds.” They are not found in his writings or in his book Centuries. Nostradamus wrote very few of these words. The author of the hoax has taken sentences from different parts of Nostradamus’ book and combined them to make it look like an accurate prediction. It is a sick joke designed to scare people.
