Read Introduction to Hebrews

6 But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says: “Let all the angels of God worship Him.”

Let all the angels of God worship Him.”

This phrase is a quotation from Psalm 97:7. The psalmist predicted that angels would worship the Messiah. Angels will worship the Son at His Second Coming. At the return of Christ, when He institutes His Millennial Kingdom on earth, angels will worship Him (He 12:22-24). Angels will be part of that kingdom. Both Old and New Testament saints will also be part of that kingdom. This is the time of the Son’s future position of authority.

God’s first prerogative for the Son is that angels will worship Him. If the Son is worshipped by angels, then He is clearly superior to them.

PRINCIPLE:

All creatures, including angels, will worship Jesus in His future kingdom.

APPLICATION:

Although the Son was made lower than the angels in His birth as a human, He is greater than the angels because He is God and someone who should be worshipped. This will especially happen in a future day (Re 5:11-14).

Angels do not inherit God’s promises. Neither is any individual angel God’s Son. They cannot be compared to the Son of God.
